Extracurricular Activities

Developing well-rounded children involves allowing for opportunities where they can learn more about themselves and their community, broadening their worldview. Participating in clubs can give them a chance to discover, highlight, and excel at their strengths.

Clubs

Academic Tutoring
We provide academic tutoring before and after school for students who heed homework help, additional instruction, and/or remediation within the core subjects.

STEAM Club
We meet after school on Wednesdays to explore areas of science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math. We learn new things and work on special projects in:

  • Robotics
  • Programming
  • Digital photography and computer graphics
    • Yearbook
  • Music and sound effects
    • Using synthesizers, electronic keyboards, electric and acoustic guitars
    • Composing musical beats on Digital Audio Workstation software 
  • Digital storytelling

Student Council

Student Council gives students hands-on experience with democratic government. The student body elects officers and student representatives in the fall of each year. Student council members are responsible for communicating concerns both to and from their grade’s students. They are also in charge of boosting school spirit through fundraisers and activities.

Athletics

As part of the Desert Pine Sports League, we offer our intermediate students the opportunity to participate in the following team sports:

  • Cross Country
  • Football
  • Volleyball
  • Basketball
  • Soccer
